CHIROPRACTIC
HEALTH CARE

Chiropractic is a natural, non-invasive, specific health care approach. By maintaining proper spinal alignment, the body's most important system, the nervous system, is allowed to function at its full potential.

After years of training, a chiropractor is able to assess and provide comprehensive treatment for injury or disease as it is related to the spine, the nervous system of the mechanical functioning of joints. A chiropractic adjustment made to the specific spot in the spine will help to improve the flexibility of the spine and protect the central nervous system, as well as to reduce pain and increase functionality of joints. These are a number of techniques Dr. Cheryl; uses to provide you with the specific adjustments your body needs.

MASSAGE THERAPY

Massage Therapy is a manual manipulation of soft body tissues (muscles, connective tissues, tendons and ligaments) that can be used to treat acute pain as well as to enhance a persons overall health and well-being.

RMT's (Registered Massage Therapist) are licensed professionals. RMT's are effective in treating and providing relief for a wide range of conditions such as migraines, tendonitis, fibromyalgia and sports injuries.

MANUAL
OSTEOPATHY

Manual Osteopathy is a drug-free, non-invasive, manual therapy that aims to improve health across all body systems. Using manual "hands-on" techniques to improve and correct altered biomechanics, an osteopathic practitioner concentrates on putting the body's structure in the right place; thus allowing proper function to return.  By treating the body as a whole and focusing on addressing the cause rather than on the symptom alone, Manual Osteopathy is designed to treat chronic recurrent pain or discomfort. Manual Osteopathy is safe and effective for all ages from newborn to elderly.

What conditions can Manual Osteopathy treat?

• Neck and back pain

• Frozen shoulder

• Chronic pain

• Headaches

• Scar tissue

• Sciatica

• Vertigo

• Digestion issues

• Carpal tunnel syndrome

• Mobility issues due to injuries

• Repetitive strain and overuse injuries

• Pregnancy-related discomfort

• Sports injuries

• Old injuries

• Tendonitis

• Stress

• TMJ

REFLEXOLOGY

Reflexology goes beyond the feel-good effects of the treatment – it's more than just a foot massage.

Using focused pressure techniques directed at the feet, reflexology works with the reflexes in the body that map to other parts, glands, and organs of the body. Through the application of pressure on very specific points, reflexology can be used to restore and maintain the body's natural balance and to facilitate healing. Sensitive trained hands can detect tiny deposits and imbalances and by working on these points your Reflexologist can help to release blockages throughout the body.

Amongst the benefits that clients report are:

• Reduced stress

• Improved relaxation

• Released tension

• Decreased pain

• Improved body function

• Enhanced wellness

• Increased strength

• Increased mobility

THERALASE LASER

Theralase Laser work by supplying the body with billions of protons of light at very specific wavelengths. The body absorbs this laser light on a cellular level and transforms it into chemical energy, which the body then naturally uses to repair its own tissue. The bio-stimulating effect of laser therapy causes decrease in both pain and inflammation and an increase in tissue regeneration and accelerated healing.

For more information about laser treatment, please visit us at the clinic and book a consultation with Dr. Cheryl.

ORTHOTICS

Your feet are never better than they were at 7 years of age. So what does it mean? What can I do about this? Are orthotics right for me?

At Discover Chiropractic, we assess the foot's mechanical position and function as it relates to the posture and function of the entire body. We then cast a customized orthotic to support and balance the biomechanics inadequacies of your feet and legs. Improper positioning of the foot then leads to issues in the body beyond that of just the feet and knees. Orthotics can be assistive for conditions such as plantar fascitis, shin splints, achilles tendonitis, pelvic inequality, lower back pain and many others.
